The city of Bangalore seems to be loosing its character. We first dried our lakes, and then cut the trees for road widening. Beautiful trees have been cut down in the name of development. Cutting trees for metro was understandable but, cutting trees for road widening is not required.

Bangalore has a very good Bus service, and soon Metro is going to be there. When, we have a metro and a Bus service why should the roads be widened to accomodate cars and two wheelers. It is good Public transport is to be encouraged. Even shops have been destroyed and no compensation is paid to them thereby effecting their livelihood. It is difficult to understand why the Government is not concerned about the environment.
