In our country India Software came up to a large extent because the Politicians who run the Government did not interfere in its working, perhaps it is a little difficult for them to understand.
But why are we lacking in Infrastructure and basic things like Health care, Nutrition, Roads, schools and many other things. Even the lack of Police personnel is alarming.
As, I have mentioned in my last blog about the basic things the Government to do is to provide Law and Order, Health, Security and Infrastructure. If a road is being built, it is of a very poor quality which will be with pits after some rains and heavy traffic. Classic example is the Shiradi Ghat road which leads to Mangalore. Even the Golden quadrilateral is not complete because there was a change of Government.
Politicians interfere in these works and I suspect (An assumption.) that they in understanding with the contractor use sub standard material and pocket the difference among themselves by showing a different bill. I again presume that most of the times they are the contractors themselves being run by their own men. So the sufferer is the common man. Even Medical equipment and medicines are not provided to the Primary Health Centres because even there they put their hands and make money from free medicines. The police personnel do not take complaints against influential people because they are on the pay rolls of Politicians. Sad in a Democracy that the elected representatives who is one among us is taking us for a ride . People should loose fear and stand up against them and demand what is due to them, till that time we are bound to suffer.
P.S.Comments and suggestions are invited.

Government has no business to be in business
These words were told by Margaret Thatcher the then British Prime Minister. It was the time were many Industries were privitised in Great Britain. The Public Sector Undertakings (PSU) were built in India during the time of Jawaharlal Nehru, the first Prime Minister of Independent India. It was necessery those days as the Private Sector was not strong. It was like a catalyst for growth.
But, today the Public Sector is not required as many people have started growing in the Private Sector. The Government can reap the benefits of their Assets and make good with the profits. The same money can be used for Public Health and Education which is very much vital for the country. The basic duties of a Government is to provide Security of all aspects, Law & Order, Education and Public Health. The Government should act as an regulator but not an eneterpreneur. There are many other people to run Factories and businesses . Let the people run businesses and make a living. Let Profit not be a dirty word. Let the Government concentrete on administration which is of vital importance and not spend time running Factories.

opportunistic politicians
It is a pity that P.A.Sangma who was the speaker of the Lok Sabha, is apologising to Sonia Gandhi regarding her Foreign origin comments. Wether we like it or not Madam Sonia Gandhi has a Foreign origin. Mr.Sangma who had left the Congress Paty to form the NCP did a Uturn now. It is just to help his sons and daughters to come up in politics. What a pity our politicians do not stick to their words, and look after their own interests .
