elections

The elections took place on the 23rd of April in some parts of Karnataka including Bangalore. The voting was very less. This is a dangerous situation as people are loosing interest in elections.

Elections are the pillars of Democracy and if interest fizzles out the strength of Democracy is at stake. The reasons are twofold. Nomber one. The people are not interested either due to indifference or cynical. Surprisingly it is the urban educated who do not vote much. Their attitude is very wrong, this class is prepared to sit on the footpaths for a US VISA in front of the embassy but do not want to elect their leader. The educated are becoming subservant to the Western World and do not have a stake in the Country. This is a bad thing.

The other reason is the wrong candidates and the non performance of Government. The people with Criminal Background stand and get elected and make money without an iota of interest in policies of Nation.
The educated people should start taking interest in Politics either through participation in Election and expressing opinion for change. The process is going to be slow but, if started now it will help our future generations.
Our Freedom Fighters did it for us so we are in a prosperous India today, so we should also wake up and be active for our future.
